As in the last show, place was neat and tidy and organized. Very good venue and organization.
First band, Survival is Suicide. Didn't have a big audience, sadly. But i think it had to do with the show being on a Friday and some people still being at work at that time. My guess.
It was just drums and bass, with the rest of the instruments being programmed. Nothing wrong about that though. They played their very heavy music. How to describe? A mix of black with death and a bit of thrash metal. Very professional. Very sober sound. A bit too bassy at the start, but improved along the set, as expected. Interactive frontman between songs and they seemed as pleased to be there as we were that they were there.
After that it was the turn of Attic. The place was a bit more filled up already. So I have heard Attic before the show and wasn't expecting much. But they put on such a show!
So it was a bit like a Satanic mass with an altar, incense burning (white sage or whatever it was that smelled like church incense), big candle holders. As for them, they had corpse paint. The singer wearing no shirt, but a jacket, King Diamong style. The music was a mix of King Diamong with, I would say, Hell. The voice was mostly (not only but more than not) falsetto. And they would benefit of turning their songs half a tone down so he could achieve the falsettos perfectly without going out of tune. Anyway, instrumentally it was very heavy, touching the Black Metal style. It was very entertaining and surprisingly good. And it is important that they are giving continuity to this kind of music, because it isn't very common, and would end up dying if bands like Attic didn't do it. It also takes courage to do a band with such a style, especially the singing.
After Attic, it was Valkyrja. I am almost speechless about this band. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen. First time I've seen them live and hopefully the first of many.
Valkyrja are a good band to play with Marduk, since the style is similar. However, more catchy and with amazing solos, not as common in this genre of music. It was so pleasant. The whole thing. Their digital stage lights screwed my photos. But gave a very good atmosphere to the stage.
Singer and guitarist singing and playing solos at the same time was one of the most interesting thing to see as it isn't easy to do both at the same time. Sound was good, performance was very professional, you can tell they know very well what they're doing and they are very comfortable doing so. Very impressive show.
Then the headliners Marduk. They always play a good show. I've seen them a few times (the first of them still with Legion on the vocals), and they never disappoint. With their war decoration of stage, which is very much their thing, they made the public happy. Public reacting more to The Blond Beast than to any of their other songs, doing a mosh pit even.
Was a good show, full of energy and interaction with the public, trying to styr things up. However, it felt shorter this time, and that some key songs were missing.
