News: Crest of Darkness debut video from upcoming album on youtube

Norwegian Black Metal band Crest of Darkness are releasing a new album tomorrow, the 25th of November. This will be their 7th full-length album, and will be called Welcome the Dead.

In the meanwhile, the band released a video for the title track, and you can watch it here:

Founder and frontman of the band, Ingar Amlein has this to say about  it:
"We wanted to make a video that offers a glimpse into the dark world of CREST OF DARKNESS.  Perhaps we are just story tellers recounting a fairytale,  and the video can certainly be viewed and enjoyed at that level, but we are also  touching on aspects of Life itself and those eternal questions that people ask themselves about life and death and the meaning of it all.

"We might not have all the answers, and in all honesty we don't even want to pretend that we do, but what we do want is to make people think for themselves, and find their own answers .  Let's face it, we are all Gods.  Each of us builds their own universe, and it just happens that the world of CREST OF DARKNESS is my universe".

Welcome the Dead was recorded at the at MLP Studio by Nils H. Mæhlum, and mastered at the Kvålsonic Lab by Tom Kvålsvoll, and it will be released on My Kingdom Music in both CD and Digital formats, as well as a double LP format which will feature a special bonus track.

Review: Aborym's upcoming album "Shifting.negative"

As mostly of you know, Aborym, from Italy, are not a Black Metal band, but have been involved in Black Metal projects and bands in the past, and is always interesting to see what these musicians are up to.
Lachryma Christi has reviewed some of their stuff before and Shifting.negative is not going to be an exception.
So, there was a big change in the line-up of the band, and at the moment the only member that remains from old members is singer Fabban.
There is a new album coming up, through Agonia Records.
Shifting.negative was reorded by Fabban, as mentioned, Dan V (multi-instrumentalist), RG Narchost (bassist and guitarist), Davide Tiso (guitarist), Stefano Anguilli (keyboardist) and many guest musicians.
The album is very varied, although industrial. Very experimental. You can find loads of influences, such as Nine Inch Nails or even Marilyn Manson, and even more strangely, Mike Patton. Seems strange but in fact it isn't, since it was mixed and mastered by Marc Urselli at Eastside Sound Studios (Lou Reed, John Zorn, Mike Patton), in New York.
If you're looking for catchy melodies, you probably won'd find as many, although there is a lot of musicality.
You will certainly find acoustic bits, as well as very heavy guitar riffs that still remind us of the previous releases, but this one sounds very different. There are more exquisite songs, more of a healthy noise, more of a controlled confusion, it is good. Very good.
So if you are interested in some very heavy and sometimes a bit disturbing industrial music, give it a go. Coming out on the 25th of January, 2017, and will be available as Limite Box CD (which inclues jewelcase CD with two bonus tracks, rounded embroidered patch and wine coaster), Black vinyl (limited to 500 numbered copies), brown vinyl (limited to 100 handnumbered copies), or digital.

Tracklist:
1. Unpleasantness
2. Precarious
3. Decadence in a nutshell
4. 10050 cielo drive
5. Slipping through the cracks
6. You can't handle the truth
7. For a better past
8. Tragedies for sales
9. Going new places
10. Big h

Review: Harrow's "Fragments of a Fallen Star" release now on CD

Harrow just re-released their album Fragments of a Fall Star, previously released in 2013. This album came out first digitally and on tape, and now just came out as a CD. You may find the artwork below.
The album has four tracks, all of them with a high atmospheric touch to them.
First track, Fragments of a Fallen Star, has an intro with acoustic and sort of spiritual sounds, if that makes sense. Soon slowly starts transforming into something different with delicate and spooky voices, which introduce you to the guitar filled strong and passionate melodies of the rest of the track and the album. Voice is quite powerful and the whole thing together takes you to a great journey where music merges with feelings and emotions.
However heavy and fast and proper Black Metalish music, this album is full or surprises, as sometimes there are some quite dark doom passages as well and then again more introspective parts. Very satisfying to listen to and some bits stay in your ear for quite a long time, for the best reasons.
Is a very energetic and vibrating release that everyone should have the pleasure to listen to and to feel.
