News: Yfel 1710 released a video for the track "Zbieracz Ciał" from latest album

Black Metal band from Poland Yfel 1710 just released a video for the song Zbieracz Ciał, from their latest album Zlatują się Ćmy, which was recently released through Pagan Records.

You can watch the video here:

The video includes footage from Die Pest in Florenz (1919), a German silent historical film directed by Otto Rippert.

The band explained:

“At the time of the plague epidemic of 1710 in Warmia, it was a common thing to employ the so-called "lower medical staff".

"They usually worked at night. When people heard their bells, they were obliged to make way and walk away. The task of this "lower medical staff" was to collect corpses from the streets. Dead bodies were placed on special carriages and taken away.

"It sometimes happened that a Body Collector (English for "Zbieracz Ciał") abused his privileges. Some of them demanded money or valuables for taking away the corpse. There were also stories about drunk body collectors who desecrated corpses, simply ignoring other people who were too afraid to do disturb them."

Available in digital and CD formats, the album Zlatują się Ćmy can be ordered from the Pagan Records' webstore or from Bandcamp .

The artwork was done by Robert A. von Ritter Illustrations.
The album was recorded at Willa Wisielców Studio and Bat Studio, mixed and mastered by Michał Grabowski, blackteammedia.pl

Zlatują się Ćmy is dedicated to the memory of the band’s drummer Paweł "Skaven" Walesiak (1980 - 2020). To the Altars in Hell!

Review: Moonthoth's upcoming album "Uroczysko"

As per the previous post on here, Moonthoth is releasing a new album on the 7th of February.

Moonthoth is a one-man band from Poland, Nocturnal, and Uroczysko is his second full-length.

It's the first time that I hear Moonthoth, so didn't know quite what to expect. I like it. It is varied. It is not the traditional raw music, so don't expect that. But expect a good dose of emotions. There is anger, there is melancholy, there is sadness, and there is a lot of life too, as strange as if may sound. The keyboards are something else, touching perfection. Bringing the perfect sensation to each song.

It's a slower kind of music than what we are usually used to when we think of Black Metal. However, doesn't lose the strength and the power for one bit even so.
It is quite melodic at times, quite dark and obscure as well. Quite deep and full of feel.

Uroczysko ha 9 tracks and my favourite might be Żalnik. It is quite a strong and powerful song, very heavy and melodic at the same time. It is so dark and beautiful.

Moonthoth sounds mostly like Black Metal, but there are some doom influences there that don't go unnoticed. And they are very welcome too, to be honest. Very well performed and everything so well mixed and matched. Original and different.

It is important to point out that Uroczysko has a number of guests in its songs as you may see below.

With that being said, I am also very impressed with the song Popielnik. And also, the last track Chram Chorsa might be the most unexpected song of the album. Good unexpected.

It's a slightly different type of music, but it is a very good album indeed.

Line-up:
Nocturnal - music, lyrics, instruments, additional voice
Mateusz Sibila - vocals

Guests:
Kyriake - vocal on Popielnik
Hanna "Meren" Przybylska - vocal on Chram Chorsa
Witek Nowak - guitar solo on Żercy pieśń krucza

Bizarrekult mastermind Roman comments: "Den Tapte Krigen (The lost war) is a reflection on the everyday battle that consumes everything inside and outside, exploding the minds and deforming our personalities. Is it worth it? What do we gain? How much (and whom) do we loose on the way to "victory"?
A bit of classical "Don Quixote" by Cervantes plus a bit of post-modernist Pilevin "Life of Insects" might hint on how the lyrics, choice of languages and visuals are connected."

To celebrate the release of the album, Bizarrekult is hosting a listening event at the Vaterland Club in Oslo on the 26th of January 2023 at 8PM CET.

If you'd like to join, you can do it here .

Review: Superterrestrial 's upcoming album " The Fathomless Decay"

Superterrestrial are releasing a new album called The Fathomless Decay on the 27th of January.

For those who don't know, Superterrestrial, as the name implies, play a sort of traditional Black Metal, with some ethereal atmosphere music, as in soundscapes. When I say traditional Black Metal, I don't mean the rawness, but the speedy as well as the slow moments, the voice, the riffs and melodies, the aggressiveness, and everything else. And I mean all of it in a good way. They know how to make good music, for sure. It is even a bit technical at times.

A couple of days ago or so, Lachryma Christi shared a link where we can listen to one of the tracks of the album, Transient Lunar Phenomenon. I liked it very much indeed. I heard it like 5 times on a row. Because I'm one of those people who can listen to a song multiple times on a loop, if it is a very good one. And, although I'm not usually a big fan of those space sounds in this kind of music (or any kind of music for that matter), I have to tell you that Superterrestrial know how to use those sounds in their music without being too much, and at the same time making those sounds noticeable enough to make their music original, and actually very good.

The full album only arrived to my inbox after sharing that link, and I became quite curious to see how the rest of the tracks are. And the whole album is just fabulous. At each song coming up, the thought immediately popping in my head was and is "this is so good!".

It's different, not too aggressive, melodic enough, soundtrack material at times, in a good way, not over the top. The keyboards/synth aren't always present, or at least they're not very obvious all the time, but when they are, it makes all the sense in the world. Great atmosphere. And although the music is not exactly catchy, the songs stay in your head. It's not the kind of album you hear and when you go listen a second time, you don't remember most things. It's actually the opposite. It becomes familiar easily and it brings you the same pleasure still every time you listen to it.

There's nothing I can say I didn't like in this album.

My favourite track might be Planetesimal. It is almost sentimental, if that makes sense. Beautiful riffs, on slow parts and on speedy parts. Very intense song.

The Fathomless Decay is so good, I believe many people will regret missing it.
