Today, Lachryma Christi webzine brings you a review to the split Sentenza Diabolica recorded by the italian bands Baratro + Sangue Malefico + Bestia, released last May.
It is a very raw release.
The first two songs are by the band Baratro: Cypress Vomitory and Baratro. They are no doubt very raw, fast, angry, full of blast beats and furious guitars. There are keyboard as well, which add up to the tumultuous atmosphere. It is a very hectic atmosphere, with lots of things happening at the same time. So if you like this kind of raw chaotic Black Metal, this might be right up your alley.
Then come Sangue Malefico, with the songs Il Marchio Nero and Sentenza Diabolica. Still very raw but a bit more melodic and more depressive as well. It is within the same realm of lots of things happening at the same time, and there are sounds just as coughs and others of the kind all in the mix, but the music is slightly less turbulent, less unconventional.
The last band, Bestia, brings us the songs Il Lamento and Il Sepolcro. Bestia is just as raw and brutal, but their songs have more keyboards and the guitar riffs are more steady. It's a tad more typical in terms of Black Metal music style itself.
The second song works more as an ending for the split, since it it's around one minute of bass (or what sounds like bass) delivering a note or two accompanied by murmurs and whispers. It is atmospheric, goes well with it's name and closes the release without hesitation.
The whole release is made with a very intense experimental approach, so if you're open minded like that, and if you like to experience different unexpected sounds, give it a try!
