Review: Duindwaler's upcoming album "In het Heemskerks duin"

Dutch Black Metal band Duindwaler are releasing a new album called In het Heemskerks duin, on the 21st of March, through War Productions (CD) / Void Wanderer Productions (CD) / Zwaertgevegt (MC).

In fact, Duindwaler is a one man band,
This is very good Black Metal, I must say. It really is composed and performed with brilliance.

What can you expect from In het Heemskerks duin?
It is actually the first album of Duindwaler. Before this, the band had released a EP, and participated on a split. Which I haven't listened to yet, but now I want to.

So In het Heemskerks duin is like a shot of adrenaline. It is full of obscure but fast paced riffs and blast beats. Of course, not just that, that was only a brief introduction, since this album is a lot more profound. But yes, I wouldn't call it traditional, but familiar and welcoming.
The voice is very rough and thick, grave. Not the more common high pitched voice. I personally prefer the high pitched voices, as per my personal taste. But the voice here combines perfectly. It is quite respectable and majestic. I wouldn't change anything in it.

So, the album is composed of six tracks, all of them very powerful, intense, deep, strong, fierce. It is actually extraordinary. I could go on describing it for a long time.

You can tell this it is composed and played with all the passion possible and imaginary. Every track is very inspired and inspiring too. My favourite tracks might actually be the first and the last ones. Because they have a perfect blend of melody and harshness. There is an inherent anger and melancholy (if it makes sense that those two go together), that are even difficult to describe, but which bring together a whole atmosphere you won't want to get out of. I know I don't.
It is really good, it is beautiful.

Keep an eye on the date, it is the 21st of March!

Top 10 releases of 2023

As per usual, here is the top 10 releases of 2023, for Lachryma Christi.

I must say I had to leave some other very good releases out, because 10 means only 10.

As usual as well, the order in which these releases are displayed doesn't have any meaning. Again, "10 best" means "the 10 best".

So, here we go:

SUPERTERRESTRIAL (UK) - The Fathomless Decay

CIEMRA (BY) - The Thread of Darkness

Review: Ringarë's upcoming album "Of Momentous Endless Night"

Today, Lachryma Christi brings you a review for the upcoming album of RingarĂ«, Of Momentous Endless Night.
For those who don't know, Ringarë are from the USA, and this will be their third full-length.

So, what can you expect?
There four tracks of a very interesting melodic Black Metal music.
I'm impressed with how fast those drums can get, and I think I haven't heard anything of the sort in such melodic kind of Black Metal.

The keyboards are as predominant as any other instrument in all the songs. Although they bring a very deep and intense atmosphere to the music, they are not just background sound. They really are a central part of the whole thing, which isn't very common either in Black Metal. And it sounds really good in this particular case.

Besides the usual dragged and more high pitched than not voice, so traditional in Black Metal music, there are clean male voices too, bringing a very epic feeling to the whole release.

Although I've done it before, I don't really like comparing bands, but I can tell there are influences of melodic metal music from late 90s and early 2000s. However, they still can be original.
Meaning, there is a bit of a nostalgic feeling when listening to Of Momentous Endless Night, but at the same time, this album brings fresh air to this type of music.

So if you like the more melodic, although very fast Black Metal music, with epic clean voices, haunting keyboard strings and melancholic pianos, you'll love this album.

Of Momentous Endless Night is coming out very soon, on the 15th of December, through Avantgarde Music.
