SETH comment: "Last time we hit the road in a whole European tour was 10 years ago so needless to say we are all very excited to go on board. This is also a great package as we share a common history with some of these bands, pioneering Majestic Black Metal back in the genuine days, a genre we are today reviving. As a new Seth album is currently in the making, this tour is a great opportunity for us to play La Morsure du Christ across Europe on the eve of a new full-length, soon to be revealed!"

...AND OCEANS add: "We are more than ready to finally go on tour after 22 years since the last, No Mercy festival tour in 2001. After the tour cancellation last year, this upcoming tour is something we really look forward to more than ever and can't wait to play new songs live, not forgetting the old ones either. Recent gig in France showed that the time is right. We hope to see our old and new fans there!"

News: Aodon release first single "Mayerson", from upcoming album

French Atmospheric Black Metal band Aodon, are releasing a new album called Portraits on the 9th of June, through Willowtip Records.

They now released the single Mayerson from the same, and you can stream it here:

"With Portraits, we gave free rein to all the ambivalence of Aodon's music, both enraged and melodic, hostile and immersive. It was the perfect setting to present these nine dark destinies."

Black Metal band Drakon are releasing an EP called High Tales on the 7th of April, through Sleaszy Rider.

Band commentary about the album: “Our new mini-work is lyrically a concept, and even covers for two different Scandinavian bands, seemingly thematically distant from each other, are successfully woven into this common eschatological outline of the entire material. Through reflections on the place of our people in the universe, our fate and role, skaldically-like we tell in new songs, linking them with a common meaning, a parable-warning about the impending end of the world, Ragnarok, the destruction of all life, while saying that this is the purpose of all our human race and irreversible inevitability. Only we must fight and die proudly, with honor, like gods and real warriors. Or maybe survive at the cost of a lot, in order to be cleansed of the dirt of the outgoing circle of time and become stronger, wiser and brighter.”.

News: Kły celebrate the 5th anniversary of "Szczerzenie"

Kły released their debut album Szczerzenie five years ago, more specifically on the 20th of April. To celebrate this occasion, Pagan Records, together with the band, will release a special anniversary edition merch, and a limited run of the album in cassette format. 

The label and band released the following statement: “On 20.04 five years will have passed since the release of "Szczerzenie", the debut album from Kły. On this occasion, together with the band, we are preparing special, anniversary merch and a limited, cassette version of the album. Be prepared, because on April 20 we are going to the mountains…”

Review: Hyl's upcoming debut EP "Where Emptiness is All"

International Atmospheric Black Metal band Hyl are releasing their debut EP Where Emptiness is All through Odium Records. It is scheduled to come out in May.

So today, Lachryma Christi brings you a short review for the same.

You can tell from the beginning that these musicians have been making this kind of music for quite some time. Everything is very well written and performed. 

As atmospheric as Hyl are, there are a lot of ambience sounds and bits. Starting with the intro but not only the intro, which bring you a very intense and interesting atmosphere. It is very obscure and introspective.

However there is a lot more to it than that. All the songs are very emotional and deep, getting you into a melancholic but at the same time angry mood. It feels good. It can be addictive.

I can't point out a favourite song, because the EP is all so so good.

There is an impressive consistency in the compositions. Even with the abstract and other less abstract sounds in the middle, these songs are as a whole. 
There are dark and frozen melodies and riffs accompanied by extremely fast drums, taking you into a complete different journey. It is so good, so frosty and powerful. The vocals are dragged and harsh, and perfect for the music.

So if you are into that kind of atmospheric, melodic, but also intense and furious Black Metal, this might be right up your alley.
