Black Metal band Unfelled released their first album Pall of Endless Perdition on the 10th of March, through Season of Mist. So here is a short review for you.
It is such an intense album! It has a very good and healthy combination of rawness and melody, translating into a more traditional Black Metal album than not. From beginning to end, there is a lot of equilibrium in every composition, making it a very rich release.
Pall of Endless Perdition is mesmerising, very captivating, fascinating and really absorbing.
It is very heavy, atmospheric, dragging you into this very particular and special mood and journey. At the same time that it makes you feel surprised at every turn, it brings you a very familiar feeling, that you don't want to get rid of.
My favourite track is the fifth one, Transcendent Legacy. For it's abrupt start, for it's melody, for the catchiness of the riffs even, for the angry and shouted voice. There is a feeling almost like despair when listening to it, which is delicious. Those feelings that are difficult to translate into words, you know?
So, if you like a good dose of more hostil, fast and raw Black Metal, mixed with melody and sadness and even devastating rhythms and furious and sad vocals, you'll love Pall of Endless Perdition. I know I do. All is perfect. Instrumentally, the vocals, the alignment of the songs, everything is perfect.
