News: Ava Inferi

Even though Ava Inferi are not a Black Metal band, Lachryma Christi thought it was important to share the news, as a very influent musician is part of the band (Rune, who used to play in Mayhem as you must know).
So Ava Inferi are disbanding.
You can find more information on this on Season of Mist website, as well as still order the four albums of Ava Inferi ad mid-price:

News: Lachryma Christi is no longer on myspace

Lachryma Christi had created an account on the new myspace a few months ago. But as it is not possible to link new one to old one and almost no one is on new one (are you confused now? sorry!), Lachryma Christi just decided to give up of that for now.
Still, you can find Lachryma Christi on facebook:

https://www.facebook.com/LachrymaChristiWebzine

and also on twitter:

So now, start following!

And, to entertain you on this Saturday evening, here is a link for a vĂdeo. Enjoy:

Review: Cadaveria's Horror Metal re-released

Gothic/Black Metal band from Italy Cadaveria released in 2012 the album Horror Metal. It was such a success that Cadaveria are releasing it again through Bakerteam Records. It just came out on the 27th of May.
For those who don't know, Cadaveria play a very special kind of Metal. They are usually "labeled" as Gothic Black Metal. Well, they don't have much of Gothic, apart from the female clean vocals. The sound itself is always much more heavy than Gothic.
This re-issue is a special edition which features two bonus tracks: Whispers Of Sin (Ancestral Remix) and Hypnotic Psychosis (Chaotic Remix).
It is really heavy but melodic, and at times it becomes even a bit progressive. Never forget though that Cadaveria is herself a female singer, which makes this band already special and different, as there are not many Black Metal bands having female singers and with such a power as Cadaveria. So if this is your thing, you will certainly like it. And containing two extra songs, even better.
Italy has been pleasantly surprising in what comes to Black Metal and Cadaveria are a band that even being sort of different, is a part of this amazing scene. Give them a go!

Review: Galaktik Cancer Squad's upcoming album "Ghost Light"

Galaktik Cancer Squad is a one man band project from Germany, who will be releasing a new album called Ghost Light on the 21st of June through Hypnotic Dirge Records.
In three words: Very very good. It's a very inspiring Progressive Black Metal album. Really really good elaborated, very powerful. When you think a song can't bring you more goodness, it does. And then even more. Honestly, great musician, great principles, great melodies, great songs in fact.
Very melodic guitar riffs and solos, mixed with some progressiveness. Also great drums, great heavy metal influences on the rhythms at times.
What else to say? Really hard to express in words the emotions and strength that this album provokes.
Very fast and dragging, mixed with this post rock melancholy and even sadness at some parts of some songs, fantastic!
Do a favor to yourselves and get this album. As soon as it comes out. Argwohn really knows how to play Black Metal, how to make it good and original and at the same time keeping their roots. Let's hope he keeps presenting us with such good stuff!

Review: Frigoris' upcoming album "Wind"

For those who don't know Frigoris, they are a German Pagan/Black Metal and they will be releasing their new album on the 7th of June through Hypnotic Dirge Records. This album is really furious, really heavy too maybe, even though still very melodic and with a lot of acoustic instruments especially in the intros of the songs.
After the introduction every song keeps their melody but all songs are really fast, really very old school Black Metal stuff. The band formed in 2007, but even being a relatively recent band they already show us a lot of professionalism in what they do. They sound very unite and there is a special complicity between every instrument and every part of every music.
The voice is typically Black Metalish too, always singing in German, pretty understandable. You can also hear a female clean voice at times.
Wind is such a perfect, beautiful and strong album that it makes your skin crawl. Very emotional, making all your feelings come out, good and bad feelings, as they mix perfectly the aggressiveness with the painful melodic tones and tunes. Really a very good experience, memorable journey.
Really, one of the best albums of 2013 for Lachryma Christi. Highly recommended. Go for it. 4 days left now, not too long to wait.
Also always good to mention, amazing cover.
