Review: Rotting Christ's latest album "Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού"

Greek Black Metal band Rotting Christ just released a new album in the beginning of this Month (today in US) called Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού through Season of Mist. Κατά τον δαίμονα εαυτού means "Do What Thou Wilt".
Rotting Christ always showed us a very characteristic sound and style, very easy to identify. This album is not different in that way. As soon as you hear it, you realize it is actually Rotting Christ.
The album is available as a CD, double gatefold LP and a limited edition Digibox including a pendant in a velvet bag, a flag, and a Digipak CD with the bonus track Welcome to Hel.
All the album has very proper heavy rhythms, very obscure, dark, melodic, majestic. Very close to perfection. All instruments played in very sober manners. Voices are incredible as you can hear the growls and throaty voice of Sakis, but there are also very theatric voices in some songs, male and female. Also a variety of exotic and classic sounds.
Cine iubeşte şi lasă is one of the most amazing songs, starting with a piano and then opening space to a very spooky and beautiful voice, suddenly introducing us to a very powerful and emotional song full of different influences and details.
The fast and strong riffs are present in the album as well, and everything is very coherent. It is always amazing to be waiting patiently (or impatiently!) for a new album and then being happily surprised with such a good work when it finally comes out. It is really one of the best albums Rotting Christ ever done. This is undoubtedly one good example of how a band with more than 15 years is still very reliable and confident and their experience only seems to grow!
Don't miss this masterpiece, it is really very good.
